While her husband Tim works on the oil rigs of Borneo, Sherry is left alone in Singapore. She fills in her time by studying yoga with a guru who has very definite ideas about what makes a woman. She will have to learn to be sexy all over again, and her friend Ranji soon has her playing magic flutes all over town.
But what will Tim do when he finds out what she has been doing? Will he send her away, or train her to be the wife he wants?

"Tim and Sherry are a married couple from England who have lost that spark in their love lives. Sherry insists on single beds between the two. Tim spends his time away on oil rigs while Sherry stays behind. Then Sherry meets a Yoga Guru who has his own idea of what a woman should look like and how she should act. When Tim returns home and realizes that Sherry has been spending her time with other men, he kidnaps her and holds her as his prisoner on an island. There he will begin to teach her how his wife will be.
Jacqueline George has a great way of writing a novel.. It’s like being lost in a movie, you can actually feel yourself in the jungle, on the beach, in England, in Asia, Jacqueline is great at detail. I recommend you have a vivid imagination and you don’t blush too easily to read this story. It’s one written to not only turn the characters on, but the readers as well. The love scenes have such detail and passion behind every word. I was impressed with this book and I’m sure you will be too. Both the cover and title of Jacqueline George’s Her Master’s Voice seem to imply that it is a story involving some degree of sexual slavery. Whereas there is a fair sampling of kinky sex in this book, including some of a D/s nature, that implication is considerably overstated. Set primarily in Singapore, with a few scenes taking place in nearby countries, this is a tale of an ex-pat English couple whose extracurricular sexual escapades inadvertently brush up against local corruption and terrorism activities.Tim is an oilfield engineer who spends much of his time away from home on remote boats and barges. During his downtime in the field he amuses himself with a sexy Malaysian woman and an ultra-feminine lady boy. Meanwhile, Sherry staves off housewife boredom by taking up yoga at a local ashram, which happens to be operated by an old letch involved with some questionable enterprises.
Under the guise of “special training,” each week Papi selects one of his students to orally extract his essence. After deeming Sherry’s performance lacking, he arranges to have Sherry’s friend Ranji mentor her in becoming more feminine, in part by learning to play the “flutes” of a variety of Papi’s friends and business associates. Following an unsettling “mentoring” session that includes a Sapphic interaction with Ranji and coitus with a very unsavory businessman, Sherry terminates the mentoring arrangement with her friend.
The couple’s out-of-marriage dalliances start to intersect with their personal relationship while they are enjoying a romantic weekend at a secluded resort. A man Tim rescues from drowning during his morning swim turns out to have been a recipient of Sherry’s flute training. While Alistair discretely feigns not knowing her when Tim introduces them, later developments motivate him to reveal to Tim the details of his first meeting with Sherry out of a sense of obligation to the man who saved his life.
After confronting her with this information, the two men orchestrate a punishment for Sherry that involves drugging her and whisking her away to a remote beach house owned by Alistair, where she is rendered naked, secured to a long chain and not allowed to leave. During her week-long stay there she is subjected to some inconsequential spanking and forced to watch Tim being pleasured by Alistair’s twin sex playmates.
Shortly after this experience a convoluted series of events revolving around Tim unfold, including a harrowing escape from terrorists and a kidnapping by criminals. Along the way Tim’s own indiscretions are exposed and both of his part-time paramours end up living with the couple, a development that inevitably changes the dynamic of their relationship and triggers some sexual bonding amongst the feminine household members.
Perhaps the best features of this book are its well drawn characters and the deft manner in which the exotic locales are brought to life. The author excels at writing natural sounding dialogue, and accurately capturing speech patterns of characters with varied ethnicities, genders, and social status. Some may find the frequent use of euphemisms for genitalia and sexual acts tiresome, even though they are not as cringe-worthy as they could be. While readers seeking intense master and submissive scenarios will need to look elsewhere, overall this is an entertaining read with an imaginative plot and plenty of tasteful naughtiness.
